Updated Closing Announcement- April 17
The Carrollton Public Library will continue being closed to the public until May 3, 2020, in accordance with the Missouri Stay-at-Home order given by Governor Mike Parsons on Thursday, April 16, 2020. The extended Stay at Home order is in response to a continuing effort to control, contain, and combat COVID-19.
The library will abide by the Governor’s order to remain closed until May 3, 2020 and will not be offering ANY patron services during this time. This means NO curbside services, no in-house library programs, no rentals of library spaces, and outreach services are suspended.
The Carrollton Public Library Board made the difficult decision to close the library to the public on March 20, 2020 based upon the recommendations of the federal, state, and local public health officials. This decision was best for our patrons and library staff. We value the well-being of our patrons and staff above all else. All the information we have received from the public health community suggests that this well-being is best served by a period of social distancing. The only way we can ensure that in our library is being a good role model for our community is by shuttering our facilities to the public and abiding by the Governor’s home to shelter in place. Depending on the national and state response for protecting the public, the closed period could be extended.
All due dates for library materials have been extended until May 31, 2020. Overdues fines will be waived. Please keep your materials until the library reopens or use the library’s book drop for returns.
